About Robby

Robby McAlpine (the blogger formerly known as robbymac) is a veteran pastor, musician, author, and freelance editor. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Biblical Studies) from Providence University College, and invested three years in post-graduate theological studies at Tyndale Seminary and Providence Seminary. During the pandemic lockdown, he completed the Publishing program at Ryerson University (now Toronto Metropolitan University).

He’s been a regular online contributor at Church Leaders, Think Theology, Worship Links, Next Wave, and Church Plants. He also served on the editorial team for Dr. Bill Jackson’s History of the Christian Church, Volume Two.

Robby’s books include Post-Charismatic, Detoxing from Church, and The Genesis Café. Writing under the pseudonym Deven Kane, he’s also penned a number of science fiction and urban fantasy novels.

Robby and Wendy live in western Canada, and enjoy good times with good friends over good coffee and/or wine. They have three adult children and one grand-puppy.
