About Robby

Robby McAlpine is a veteran pastor, missionary, musician, and author. And by “veteran”, of course, we mean he’s had many experiences — the good, the bad, and the ugly — and lived to tell about it. Robby and Wendy have been married for 33 years and have three awesome children.

Robby holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from Providence University College (Winnipeg), and completed two years of post-graduate work at Tyndale Seminary (Toronto), and a year of further study at Providence Theological Seminary (Winnipeg). He is a regular contributor at ThinkTheology.org, ChurchLeaders.com, WorshipLinks.us, and ChurchPlants.com.

Robby’s passion for healthy churches and sound theology is reflected in the books he has written: Detoxing from Church, Post-Charismatic 2.0: Rekindle the Smoldering Wick, and The Genesis Cafe: Conversations on the Kingdom. He also enjoys writing science fiction novels, such as the Tracker Trilogy.

Robby and his family live in British Columbia, Canada, and love nothing better than good times with good friends over good coffee. And playing his bass (a Fender Jazz, thanks for asking).

Many of the favorite characters from Robby's blog and books can be found in his 10th Anniversary "best-of" post: Milestone: A Decade of Blogging.
